Margaret Belfield, MSN, RN, is Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Clinical Services, AtlantiCare. She has strategic and operational oversight of AtlantiCare’s programs and services in five counties of New Jersey, which include AtlantiCare Regional Health Services’ AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center (ARMC) with three locations, ambulatory services, surgery centers, and AtlantiCare Physician Group.
Prior to her current role, she served as COO of ARMC. She joined AtlantiCare in 1999 as administrator of ARMC Atlantic City Campus.
Prior to joining AtlantiCare, Belfield served in a number of leadership roles at Hahnemann University Hospital-Tenet in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, including as chief nursing officer, vice president surgical service line and interim chief operating officer.
Belfield’s career has also included serving in various critical care and nursing leadership positions at the University of California and the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, both located in San Diego, California.
Belfield is a member of the New Jersey Hospital Association Policy Development Committee. She sits on the advisory board of the Gift of Life Donor Program, and is a past board member of the Jersey Shore Council Boy Scouts of America® and past board chair of the American Conference on Diversity.
Belfield attained her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan. She earned her Master of Science degree in nursing administration from San Diego State University in San Diego, California.
Belfield resides in Egg Harbor Township with her husband, Michael, and they have two sons, Cameron and Sean.
